Tuesdays Football

A fantastic night for British clubs. Best result of the day was of course United’s win in the Ukraine. An outstanding attacking display with some quality goals. Rooney’s was brilliant and it was nice to see Giggs back to his best. I will admit it was a bit of a dodgy penalty decision but ref’s do favour the big clubs as I have said before. Almost got into the knock-out stages and will be top of the league in two weeks time. Things are looking good. All this with a an injury crisis and a load of youngsters playing. These youngsters include Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo so the future is looking bright.

Those three shared three of the four goals in the 4-2 win. Rooney’s was brilliant, Ronaldo’s two were pretty routine. Rio is keeping his little scoring run going with yet another goal The defender must have upped the goal bonus in his contract recently. It was also nice to see Vidic come back to partner Rio. He probably should have conceded a penalty, but United are a big club. Once Gary Neville and Patrice Evra come back we will finally have our best defence. Midfield is looking good even with so many injures. Could do with having Hargreaves back just to shore us up a little. Up front and there are now no problems. Rooney and Tevez have proved they can play together and Ronaldo is approaching his best.

The other English team playing were of course the dirty Gooners. I have to say it was an alright result. Not exactly against the best team in the world but Theo Walcott scored. Finally Wenger is picking an Englishman. More of an Englishboy but at least it’s a start. Walcott managed to score goals, meaning he tripled his previous tally of one. He’s starting to make Benjani look prolific. Playing up front and with your team winning 7-0, you would hope to score though. The only save the keeper made was to stop Walcott scoring a hat-trick. That must of pissed off the youngster.

The other player to score twice was other youngster in the side- Fabregas. The future looks bright for the Gooners as well, which isn’t such good news. A week on Saturday will be their first loss however. There is no chance that they will go to Old Trafford and get a win. Arsenal are having a better season than I expected though. This proves how wrong I was- I though Spurs would beat them to fourth place. Not much chance of that happening now.

Up in Scotland, Rangers completed a great night for British clubs, earning a draw against mighty Barcalona. In a result not many were expecting, the Scottish runner ups managed to prevent the powers of Henry, Messi and Ronaldinhio from working. Henry must be pissed off he left Arsenal now. Whilst they are appearing to prove that they don’t need him, his new team can’t beat Rangers. I’m starting to see why he and Darren Bent were apparently the same value.

All in all, an excellent night for the British teams, with 11 goals between the two English clubs. It is nice to see the two best teams being United and Arsenal again. It is the way it should be as they both play the best football in the land.
